Divine Uwikirezi

Born in Rwanda, raised in Quebec city, Divine knew from early age that she wanted to become part of the fashion world. She opens her mind to several field of interest such as fashion, hosting on a radio, communication, politics, import-export.

She had a chance to discover different aspects of the fashion world by hosting different events;organizing and participating in fashion shows; and to continue pursuing her dream of growing into a successful entrepreneur, she opened her company in Africa (D-Models Ltd), for sharing everything in fashion that she learnt in these past nine years.

When she is not busy working, she enjoys traveling. With her optimistic outlook on life, generous spirit, she would love to be able to open a charity residence for orphans and sick kids, as we all know what happened in Rwanda in 1994, there still are a lot of orphans who need help.

Would love to have my own clothing line, keep working on the fashion industry

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life? Why?

What is the proudest personal accomplishment (other than being in this or any other beauty pageant competition)
- My proudest personal accomplishment happened 3 years ago, when I helped a family in Africa. A mom who was so sick (aids) with her 2 little kids.I rebuilt their house with my parents help they were so thankful and I felt that I was helped a thousand families It feels good.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
To reach higher levers in the fashion industry. I have to trust myself my potential, and focus on my passion of fashion.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was raised in a lovely and protective family, with 4 sisters. A normal childhood, school during the week, activities (tennis, piano lessons, reading) during weekends and spending time with family.

What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?
My experience in life, which make me, a simple, humble and generous person.

What is your philosophy of/in life?
- Chaque être humain est sur cette terre pour une raison.Nous avons chacune et chacun un devoir à accomplir.Nous avons toujours un choix dans la vie et nous devons simplement bien choisir. Et je crois sincerement au proverbe disant que “Quand on veut, on peut!”.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
I hope to have a nice and happy family, healthy kids, and to be a role positive role model. Also, to still working and succeed in the fashion industry.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about yourself? Something unique that has happened to you? Some interesting thing about you?
- J ai eu la chance d’avoir une famille super genereuse, qui aime beaucoup les gens, qui aime partager et aider ceux qui sont dans le besoin. Donc, en 2006 durant mon voyage en Afrique au Rwanda, j’ai eu la chance de visiter un village pauvre, j’ai realise beaucoup de choses: j’ai reconnu la chance que j’ai, d’etre ici au Canada et de pouvoir subvenir à mes besoins et j’ai appris qu’on n’a pas vraiment besoin d’être dans les pays developper pour être heureux.Les enfants dans la rue qui n’avaient rien, qui se contentaient d’un repas par jour et ils ont toujours un sourire dans leur visage! Donc la morale de l’histoire est de se contenter de ce qu’on a et d’apprecier chaque moment de la vie avec ceux qu’on aime.
