Maiko Itai (板井 麻衣子, Itai Maiko?) is a Japanese beauty pageant contestant from Oita who won Miss Universe Japan 2010 on 9 March 2010. Maiko, the 13th Miss Universe Japan, accepted the crown from Emiri Miyasaka, Miss Universe Japan 2009.
Itai is a 25-year-old former civil servant who lives in Oita Prefecture city and who worked for the city hall until December last year. She spoke English and Portugese fluently during her speech during at the contest.
Itai, who was selected from among some 4,000 applicants, will compete Miss Universe Pageant in July after 4 months of training of training.
